Pythian relocated its Headquarters to a newly constructed building in Westboro in 2015. Pythian was signing a long-term lease, so it was important to design a space that not only met the needs of today but also for the future. The infrastructure needed to be flexible to adapt to the advances in technology and organizational changes that would occur over this period. Today the space has been subdivided and Tehama, Pythian founder’s new startup, occupies one of three floors.

In keeping with Pythian’s space standards, the office was designed as a predominantly open concept environment. Keeping accessibility and inclusivity at the forefront, the space is fun, creative and brings people together. The work areas include hoteling opportunities for out of town staff and clientele as well as a variety of assigned open and enclosed workpoints and unassigned touch down spaces for focus work.  Each meeting space has a variety of different settings to accommodate different working styles including standing meetings. Increasing security, productivity and flexibility across the organization were key components to the headquarters’ facility upgrades. This modern workplace is an example of how to attract and retain top talent.

Distinguishing Features:  The custom powder-coated metal reception desk and dynamic, integrated lighting sets the tone of the space when guests enter. The workplace features high-end sleek finishes, open industrial ceilings, polished concrete floors, and custom signage and branding elements. The Pythian brand colours are incorporated throughout in accent feature walls, upholstery in collaborative furniture and eye-catching artwork. The highlight of the space is a large, multi-functional Café leading to an outdoor terrace complete with BBQ and gas fire pit.
