Transformation through collaboration Working in collaboration with Hobin Architecture, 4té led the Interior Design for Taggart's HQ project. The fit-up included full transformation of the existing HQ plus a new addition; creating a cohesive, modern workplace suitable for current and future ways of working. The result is an office space that provides flexibility, functionality, connectivity and promotes collaboration. The design was inspired by the purity and beauty of simple construction materials, such as concrete, OSB boards, Plywood, and exposed concrete block walls. By creating a clean, simple, and welcoming material and finishes palette the space feels modern yet timeless. Injections of colour are focused on the furniture, selected artwork and photos featuring Taggart’s past projects and their impressive history since 1948.
Distinguished features Use of OSB boards as a main feature in the staff lounge, for both the large island and the ceiling elements; as wall cladding material for back of house meeting rooms; creating a unique and unexpected look; block wall dividers separating staff open work area from main circulation corridor with custom screens featuring Taggart iconic imagery. The juxtaposition of "concrete look" carpet and LVT flooring with highly finished materials such as glass walls with integrated screens, wood wall covering and solid surface in the front of house reception area and meeting rooms. Copper look floors and wall tiles in the staff washrooms created a dramatic affect.
